Tinned Meat

Post by Loop Erimder »

Just following on from the SK's thread on Oaks Melt about meat, what do you chaps use or prefer, Luncheon meat, spam, bacon grill etc. Whats the differences?
Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish

I prefer bacon grill as its a little firmer than luncheon meat.
Plumrose if the price is right ( other bacon grills are available)
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Bacon Grill ever day of the week. Having said that there are some quite interesting flavoured Spams appearing on the supermarket shelves. Not sure how their flavours will react in water but could save a little doctoring when you want something different and something quick.

Must admit I can't help myself but to flavour meat before use. I guess with owning a bait company it doesn't seem right not tweaking something to make it a little more 'my own'. The only drawback is I need to do it a couple of days before I want to use it.

Chopped pork and ham, when I can get it. I have a couple of tins of spam which I am going to try out, now the temperature is rising.

Pepperami for me on rivers. Easy to use, just break a bit off and nick a hook through the skin. Stays on the hook no problem. Plenty of barbel and chub have shown a liking for it. Also accounted for my pb carp but not taken any on it recently

Bacon grill tops the list, and garlic spam when available, chopped pork and ham next then regular luncheon meat.
I often fry of chopped pork and ham and luncheon meat with some hot curry powder.
