55 Question

Post by The Sweetcorn Kid »

Does the Cardinal 55 have a line clip on the spool?

Thanks in advance.

I have a 155 model which is identical except that it is left hand only, and not amidextrous and mine does not have a line clip. I'm sure they shared the same spool?

Yeah, there will be times when i need to clip up and cast to a spot in the dark, like a hole in the weed at Redmire etc......can't do that with 300s or delmatics. Just looking to see if there is anything old that has a line clip, I wonder when they were invented. just curious.

You could always do it the old way, mark the line or a rubber band over the spool... :Thumb:

Know what you mean the mate, its ok using this kit but there are a fewe drawbacks

do what I do.... place a couple of laccy bands round the spool when you reach your desired distance, then wind in.... next time you cast keep your finger near the spool and stop it down if you hear the line pinging out of the laccy... tis as good a method as any in the absence of a line clip... (works a treat with mitchells :Thumb: )
Just one more cast love, and I'll be on me way home

Don't fancy the idea to be honest. Yes, I might be able to get close to where I want it, but if i get a savage take in the night the line will get stuck on the band and a running fish could end up breaking me, or similar. Don't think I'd like to take the chance where big fish and weed are present.

It was just a thought that was all, I'll just have to stick with me "Pubchux!!"
