This reel was close to the bin, the holes in the front spool plate where ruined by trying to drill them out further so made a new front on the lathe
First cleaned it up a bit to see if there where other problems, removed the line pillars and try to use them again but some where damaged to much, made new pillars and drilled 2mm holes in both ends and bring on thread in them to assemble the spool with small bolts.

Bring on the new pilars
Looks much better and can be used again

If you have no grease with you, and your rings are full of ice, do not cut out the ice with a pen-knife but get your man to put the rings one by one in his mouth, and so to thaw the ice.
