Re: Constables of Bromley Rods
Have you tried info@chapmansblanks.co.uk ? It says they’ll take orders by phone or discuss requirements.
Try 07713 057 249 on Monday morning and see if there is anyone answering the mobile. Worth a try I would think.

Re: Constables of Bromley Rods
Re. my two Wizards, where I was looking for someone to repair and renovate them, I eventually found a guy who comes into the tackle shop at Rib Valley Lakes, Ware, and who specialises in repairing old cane rods. Very nice job he did too (£40 for the pair). They look good, but when I came to use one, I’d forgotten how heavy they are compared to modern day rods, so I guess they’ll probably stay in their bags, apart from special occasions. Maybe it’s because at 70, my arms are not as strong as they were when I was younger!

Re: Constables of Bromley Rods
I have a Constable of Bromley "Twin Top" which makes rods of 9ft 10in or 10ft 10in. I've not used it yet but will report back once I have.PDuffield wrote: ↑Sun May 27, 2012 10:38 pm As you may have read in another thread (http://www.traditionalfisherman.co.uk/v ... =38&t=2253) I've recently acquired a Constable Wizard, although I didn't know what it was until forum member Browns kindly identified it for me.
I know little about this maker other than that Constables is recognised as a respected cane rod maker, but apart from the 'Forty Fore' I've not heard much about other Constables rods. Do other forum members own any or have any more information about this maker?
What do they know of fishing who know only one fish and one way to fish for him?

I lived in Bromley (Kent) for several years during the 60s, and although I remember Marco and Dawson's I don't recall Constables. Were they perhaps on Letsby Avenue?

Close to Chatterton (not Chadderton) Road where Dawson's were (no longer a kebab shop but a barbers called 'GreatFellas'). But this address appears to be a private house not a shop.Deaf Cat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 11, 2021 9:03 pm 48 Addison Road according to Nobby.
