This nymph is almost the same as the simple pink nymph tutorial, only with an added bead & hackle. Tying it on a size 10 bug hook makes for a heavy nymph.. The bead is weighty, as is the gold wire never mind the double wrap of lead. Reaching the bottom it will drag ever so slightly, but enough to slow down the drift, which is just what’s needed for grayling.
The off white dubbing over the pink threaded body, if spread sparse enough, gives a look of opacity. The pink comes through the dubbing layer, but subtly, and I think this is what makes this nymph look great. The black hackle and turn of opal mirage on the body finishes off a nymph that not only looks good, but catches fish too.
The spools in the first photo have their labels facing up for reference.

That’s a fair old bit of fly fishing bling! It wasn’t designed in Essex by any chance, was it?

Close Ducket. It wasn’t designed in Essex but it’s named after someone from Manor Park which I’m sure was originally part of essex.
Two clues:- bling and bullseye.

To break that record anytime is an achievement, but on a Monday……Duckett wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 10:02 amIan wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 9:36 amIntroducing the Bobby George, and the foam eyed rainbow trout version, the booby George
