Many thanks, guys; - I'm really pleased you all like the pic.
It's funny how few action shots are actually taken - they are often the most exciting images, aren't they? Mind you, I remember being filmed once as I played a double figure pike in at Dudmaston; - on the whole, I was quite pleased with the result, but I was surprised at how often the rod went too far back during the playing of the fish and how, at other times, I was clearly not putting enough pressure on the fish. All the same, it came out OK, - both the fish and the video.

Even I'm my most ardent Mod days i never went fishing in my black and white Gibsons!
Nearly bought a pair off the bay the other year to wind up the Mrs.

This ancient looking fish was my first double,hence the grin.It weighed just over 12 pounds and i doubt if it ever got much bigger than that.It was caught in 1984 from a small cornish estate lake called st germans

its one of my favorites,the fish was known as 'scarback' for obvious reasons!

forgive my ignorance but dont know about tom o'reilly,im aware theres a book that refers to the port eliot estate lake but thats all,i thought it would be a different port eliot.Anyone prepared to elaborate?I have other photos but they're not digitised as yet
