More nets
With a little free time in my hands I have been busy making a few more nets , the smallest one is made of 12mm oak dowel and measures 21” x 16” with a spreader block of eBay
The medium net is ash framed and measures 27” x 19” and the spreader block is aluminium
The largest net ( which will probably never get christened because I can’t catch fish that large ) is 31” x 22” and the frame is made from 2 lengths of oak laminated together , the spreader is one I made from brass and although not perfect does the job and is the only one I have attempted which hasn’t snapped while opening it up
I spend most of my life fishing the Rest i just waste

They look very nice. Well done on the energy and skill ! On a personal basis, I have also progressively moved toward the oval - "teardrop" - shape net in preference to triangular over the last year or so with another one due very shortly ............. Ha !

Re: More nets
Very nice indeed and I hope you christen them soon. I purchased one of those spreader blocks like on your small net and wondered if I could make a hoop from a length of Bamboo cane. An idea that I will probably never get around to..a bit like my float making.
