Gents.... I have a rod that is my favourite barbel rod. I'm sure it is a B James Avocet. Whole cane butt, Plain black whippings (no intermediates), clear agate tip and butt rings and lovely, simple brass ferrule stoppers. The only marking on the rod however is a transfer that simply says "Restored by B James and Sons, Ealing"..... I just wondered if anyone has any information of when B James provided this restoration service? Was it throughout their existence or for a period of time? I'm trying to sketch out a likely history of the rod, just out of personal interest. Regards, Skeff

Re: Avocet information....
I'm afraid I can't help with information on the rod, but that is a beautifully composed photo...
