Arielite reels

Post by Aitch »

I have an Arielite (see photo)
Image

I have retired the old girl as the spool was not a good fit (a bit loose) and rocked slightly on it's central pin... (is this normal?) I was unsure if playing fish on it would affect it further, is there any way of addressing this? otherwise it just becomes an ornament and not what it was made for... I have used it in the past and would love to do so again as it's such a delight to use.... :Hat: :Thumb:

I have one too. OK for margin work. All of the ones I have tried are much the same as yours

Mine has a little bit of play on the central pin but as far as I could see when I took the spool off there was no damage and the play is ever so slight. Still a lovely reel to use. There are always plenty on ebay if you want to retire the old girl and purchase a younger model!

I used mine for margin work (quite successfully) so is it a case of "They all do that sir" and carry on regardless...? or is it something that needs a look at... ? :Hat:

Mine does it too Bluelabel, I would say carry on regardless.
